Seventeen-year-old Alli-Anna C.D. Davis is the proprietor of AD Delicate Designs, a producer of self-made care packages filled with personal care items and keepsakes.

Becoming an Entrepreneur

Speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO). the young entrepreneur said she has lived all her life in the Virgin Islands and currently resides in the Lower Estate area.

Currently a student of the Elmore Stoutt High School, Ms Davis is studying Business Administration with the intention of becoming a "bigger" entrepreneur.

“Being a young entrepreneur can be challenging in many ways, but the one that tends to stand out is not being able to deliver my own packages on time when customers request it from me, but like all problems in life it would eventually fade away when I become of age to drive,” Ms Davis told VINO.

Drive for Business

She said the thought of having a local business in the VI that customises merchandise such as album music keyholders and keychains is what inspired her to start the business.

“My current business is one I always desired because being an entrepreneur has been a long-term goal of mine. My number one goal within my business is customer satisfaction, therefore, I push every day to keep a smile on my customers' faces,” she said.

Ms Davis said in the future she sees herself as a successful sole proprietor being able to manage her business while helping others pursue their business ideas.

Turning attention to the pandemic, our Young Professional said COVID-19 has not impacted the business negatively.

“This pandemic helped my business because it allowed me to work from home and still satisfy my customers."

Parting advice

She said as a young entrepreneur, “my advice to the youth is that anything is possible once you put your mind to it, the goals that you set for yourself give you a purpose, and they help guide you where you want to go.

“I know my youths can do it now, It's your time to shine and be the best you can in whatever you may want to be in life,” she said.
