ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Chairman of Progressives United (PU), Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) is once again lashing out at the Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL) led National Democratic Party (NDP 1) government over its poor management of the territory across the last eight years of rule.

Further, the current District 3 representative is taking swipes at his former allegiance, the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) led by Chairman Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) and even going as far as comparing the VIP to the NDP 1 government in what he says lacks transparency and accountability.

Cycle of Abuse

“This cycle of abuse has become acceptable to our people as normal and tolerable for several reasons, including the fear of victimisation, lack of choices and the indoctrination that it is a fact of life,” Hon Fraser said in an video entitle ‘Progressives United Message, Count Down to Elections 2019,’ release via social media and whatsApp.

According to Hon Fraser, PU will no longer tolerate the poor status quo of the Dr D. Orlando Smith (AL) now Walwyn led NDP 1 government, instead they will offer a choice, “This is the first time that a choice for real change has been offered to you the people of these Virgin Islands… one that you can gladly accept”.

Mr Fraser continued, “Progressives United is conscious of the downward spiralling of our economy and the potential to lose control of our financial services, to this end, we have devised plans to ensure that the crippling spiral stops by first being accountable to you the people and then being transparent in all our dealings,” he said.

Restoring Respect & Accountability

Mr Fraser implored, “Under a Progressives United government, the profound lack of trust of government exhibited by foreign governments and others in authority, will end, will bring respect back to the BVI government,” he warned.

In pointing out some infractions faced by the ruling NDP 1 government, he said, “When a governor goes into your consolidated funds and remove money by a warrant signed under his own hand you are weak and being disrespected.”

Further, Hon Fraser pointed to other instances of perceived weakness in the NDP 1 government such as failure to have by-elections for the seat of the late Delores Lettsome-Christopher (R5) and the 7.2M failed BVI Airways Project where the funds invested cannot be accounted for.

According to Hon Fraser, in order for the people of the VI to know where these missing funds went, a PU government is the only way, “The people will never know, if any of the two very powerful political parties are elected… because they are one and the same,” he said.

I am extremely sorry for Hon. Julian Fraser and his political future. It is about time that he should take his seat and enjoy his retirement from politics. He has become irrelevant and trying to persuade people to support him. This is the ninth hour and his support base is crumbling. This General Election is a straight fight between the NDP and the VIP. All the others are fighting a losing battle. Hon. Ronnie Skelton I want to wish you a happy retirement as well.

They could have had a powerful third party if they could let go of the ego wanting to be Premier and come together.

There can only be one leader at a time and the quest by too many to be leader is weakening parties possibility of gaining enough seats to firm a government. It requires 7 of the 13 seats to form a government. A coalition government is highly probably. Progressive United led by the Hon Julian Fraser is only running 6 candidates. Assuming it wins all 6 seats, it will still need help in forming a government. Depending on how the election ball bounces, the Hon Fraser may be able to leverage his position to become Premier. In truth this is a long shot. The Hon Fahie and Hon Fraser, the only two opposition members in the HOA, were a formidable duo, keeping the public informed of what was going. They were like a rattler and a pit bull. What could of been if the VIP team had stayed in tact?

This is some real talk. Pride, ego and arrogance are making some of dem gydes to go why, what happen, why I’m not keeping any traction. One must be a loyal follower to become an effective leader. Further, we must able to tell when people are not into us. It is painful to watch warriors who hanged around too long, ie, Willie Mays......etc.

These are the real issues that we not hearing because they are unpopular it takes courage...1/ Building another government complex for government offices save tax payers Millions annually put money in the treasury...2/ . Change labour laws where by an employer can send an employee home for 3 months without a dime. Those employees still has rent. / loans food and bills to pay. The employer should be made to pay 7 working days pay for every month an employee is home ...Discourage workers Taking advantage of...Still on labour ..Employers keep looking for loop holes in the code to oppress and victimize employees example ...make an employee a supervisor or manager with a small salary have that person working 50 hours a week and every holiday without any compensation because the labour code say nothin for them . So they work them like slaves .Not even an extray paid vacation day....Change this stupid code...( with Frazer as minister of Labour workers will get protection ) thats one good thing I can say about Frazer ...3/ Create a fair process for status ...4/ Review the process for imported xpat managers. Create a new process so that locals can get a fair shot...5/ Review medical cost . Before NHI I had Nagico my doctor visit $80.00 my out of pocket was $20.00 ...With NHI My doctor bill is $160.00 . $40.00 out of pocket. ..( this is unconsciable greed ).Need reviewing ...

Country first, remember? You grown men have too much pride. Humble yourself under VIP’s leadership and if it is God’s will...one day He will exalt you! Maybe God is trying to work on the pride within you, and you still don’t see this! So what if Andrew was made leader of the Opposition? God is in control, and I guess you are mad with Him too. The pride of men!!
