ROAD TWN, Tortola, VI- Commentator, local author and 'prayer warrior' Sandra Phillip-Hodge has said the “unprecedented” vehicular accidents in the [British] Virgin Islands may be a warning from God and survivors should submit to Him.

In a social media post today, July 12, 2023, Hodge-Phillip said God is speaking to us, adding that the many crashes we have seen in the VI recently are unprecedented.

“Vehicles going belly up on the roads, sometimes more than one in a week. But without fatalities, persons escaping death by the Grace of God.”

Phillip-Hodge implored people to “wake up” and stop taking God's mercy for granted. “Stop being boastful and prideful, reveling in sin, and give thanks. You are not lucky.  It is God giving you another chance.

‘Submit to God’

“Every survivor of a vehicle wreck or serious accident needs to submit to God. If you have not made peace with God before, now is the time,” Hodge-Phillip stated.

The ‘prayer warrior’ continued that people find all kinds of excuses to exclude God from the equation, but He is sending warning signs to us.

“He is shaking the earth. He is rearranging circumstances. He is calling sinners to repentance. If you know someone who has narrowly escaped death in the recent past, by whatever circumstances, share this message with them. They need it. And God may be using you to ensure it gets delivered,” Phillip-Hodge shared.

Leaving a “word of warning”, Hodge-Phillip urged the people to “resist all temptation to touch, covet or take what is not yours, unless given permission by the owner.

“Hear what the Lord is saying,” Hodge-Phillip stated.

Yes I have been luck to have been involved with car crashes, 2vthat destroyed my vehicle. Tnat was luck, not a Spell or some condemnation or curse from God. As a former Insurance guy for some 12 years, it is my opinion that because of excessive speed drivers are doing with short distance to cover, the accidents will be so numerous that Insurance companies will increase the Premiums, and of course some will get hurt. The Solution is that Government need to Inforce the Speed Limit along with high fined for violations.bThe situation is that roads are in poor conditions, and everyone and their grand mother is driving an expensive vehicle, with hardly anywhere to go except their job that is so close they hardly need a vehicle. In bigger countries and more space drivers in some places drive for several miles to work. Some are getting bored with hardly any entertainment anywhere, with their fine vehicle parked on the yard, they feel the need to go for a spin in their Loud-sleaker cars. Prayer Warrior Sandra Philips-Hodge doesn't need to pray for anyone who crashed and demolished their vehicle. They, the drivers simply need to pray themselves out of Boredom and Restlessness...and Slow down. There's enough time for anyone to accomplish the things they feel they need to accomplish. On Virgin Gord the drive from Spanish Town to Gun Creek is a mete15 minutes bmost. Yet vehicles on the road between those directions can be seen driving at 60 mph and more. In quiet neighborhoods drivers are flying through at 5p and 60 mph, while in vcivilized countries neighborhoods with churches and schools or Day-cares the limit is 10-15 mph. Slow Down Bvi the only thing you are doing is heading faster to that place where everybody goes eventually and never return (perhaps until Judgement Day b..BviLove

People been complaining about the roads now for half a century, and nothing, xcept for the stretch in Fish Bay lately seems to get improved. Potholes everywhere mashing up people's vehicles. It is going to take God to fix these roads, so let's not dis Him. God can do what man can't do. It will take the intervention of God to get these roads fixed, believe it or not.

I agree with all you’ve said but you left out one very crucial reason…the repeated use of mobile phones while driving. Trying to read messages and trying to type a response. It’s as if they can’t wait until they are parked to respond. Has to be NOW. Practically every time someone is on the wrong side of the road heading towards me, they are looking at their phone and not driving with care. There needs to be stiff penalties for this. When we only had land lines and no mobile devices, people had to wait until we got home to get a response. What is the hurry now? Let them wait until you are parked or pull over, off the road, if you feel you are so desperate to respond. We truly need to enforce laws to get some respect and order in this country.

The roads are dangerous. They are poorly designed and poorly maintained. People have died as a direct result of poor design. e.g. the road to cane garden with pot holes 5 years old on that stretch and people crashing into walls at the bottom of a long stretch. Simply poor design.
This is a classic case of corporate manslaughter where the norm is to ignore the issue as people die. The Government department in charge of the roads needs to step up fix the roads asap.
Not put on these silly concerts, Building markets, Fishermen parks, Housing. We need basic infrastructure before we start on these projects. Roads, Electric, Incinerator, Water all working 100% of the time.

I've said it before and I will say it again. A well-rested, sober person, driving the speed limit and paying due care and attention could not have managed to do any of these things. All the rest of this is mumbo jumbo.

To God be the glory. He is the great physician , healer , protector, provider, etc. I give thanks for His undeserved grace and mercy, honor and glory and for His many blessings. I have much to be thankful, having survived a major health health issue recently. God is able, take all things to Him first and then to man. Pray, trust, and believe in whatever you l desire and it’s done. He can do all things. Miracles still happens. I attest to that. Keep spreading the word Sister.,Don’t be deterred.,

    2nd Peter 3: 3-9

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

I can bet everyone of them prayed to God for help when they saw the accident happening, and I also believe they thanked Him when they realized that they survive. But a lot of them probably forget God after that, and would laugh when they read this article. Yes, remind them. Give your life fully to Jesus Christ. The bible is real and the evidence are around us.

Driving is inherently dangerous and hazardous enough without the distraction of driving while on the phone. Driving on the phone is a distraction and I’m not even talking about the senseless task of driving while texting. What is so important that it cannot wait until you pull over or stop. Is the loss of life, bodily injuries, property damages, along with financial costs, guilt, and legal consequences worth being on the phone???
