ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– With a date for elections in 2023 yet to be named, Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has assured that elections will come in 2023, and there should be no uncertainty over what is constitutionally due.

The Premier was at the time speaking during a Friday, September 23, 2022, press briefing on current matters.

While addressing a question on whether elections will come, Dr Wheatley said: "I'm not quite sure why there is some uncertainty about whether there will be elections, elections will be constitutionally due in 2023, and so the constitution outlines when we will have elections by," he added.

Local social commentators like Claude O. Skelton-Cline have complained that no heavy campaigning has not yet started for the elections expected in 2023.

Everyone has a democratic right to run - Dr Wheatley

Speaking on former Deputy Premier Dr Kedrick D. Pickering contesting the 2023 elections as an At-Large candidate, Dr Wheatley said everyone has a democratic right to run and the choice is for the people of the Seventh District to elect.

Dr Pickering announced at a public meeting in Long Look on September 23, 2022, that he was not running for the Seventh District seat, which he previously held for 20 years.

"Everyone who has the desire to serve the people of the Virgin Islands and they want to make a positive change for the territory, it's their democratic right to run," Premier Wheatley stated.

"I am also going to exercise my democratic right because of course I have a lot more that I want to contribute to the people of the Virgin Islands and the choice is really for the people of the Seventh District, whether they elect me or not, I will certainly work for them and I hope that they will give me their support," the Premier detailed.

Just say you haven't got the elites script yet because if it was we the people in charge it would have had a date already. Smart people know what's really happening but the game already began. 2 years anniversary since the vaccine and the government said they are planning for martial law so you all need to research to see what that means. The celebrities ha

Are cancelling all their shows till next year. Walmart and other big companies has been cancelling all Shipments also. The people in charge of our health said the population will cut down by half by 2023 now I am not a rocket science but how can they get that done. I think I have a clue the words of Bill gates " if we do a really good job with vaccines we can depopulation through vaccines" now like I said I am not a rocket science but this its only one way they do this.If it had a real virus the animal would die first especially mosquitoes so that means every breathing creature would be dead especially if its airborne. The chem trail sprays us with poison and all its does is make us sick because it can't go out the dome. No politicians care for the people when they made a pledge to the devil so wake up people. I try to educate people to use all your brains by questioning things. Why are people in charge of our lives and not us? Why is one set of people (the elites) controlling everything? Ask questions

The good people, VI civil servants can more than stair the way to election.

If you are not trying to create a barrier to the process then get with the governor and initiate the process!
