Theft of boat parts on the rise- RVIPF
Whole engines valued up to $14,000, propellers, engine parts, fueling systems and fan belts were reported stolen recently, particularly from vessels parked at home and on dry docks.
Deputy Commissioner Alwin James noted that whatever the reason is for the rise in thefts of boat parts, whether it be the upcoming Poker Run or just the arrival of the summer months, owners should make the necessary adjustments and ensure that there is proper lighting and security cameras to keep these conveyances visible.
Persons who have information that can help in the investigation of these thefts are asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 468-9339.

Secondly, why is RBVIPF saying thievery is to be expected with the Poker Run? Have they mentioned this to the organizers?
