BAUGHER'S BAY, Tortola, VI – Talk show host Claude O. Skelton-Cline has called on the Fahie administration to end the national COVID-19 curfew for good, since he believes the curfew is having adverse economic impacts on the territory.

“Where is the Treasury going to keep getting money from if we have all this stop and go… open, close?’ the talk show host asked on the Tuesday, September 21, 2021, edition of his Honestly Speaking show.

Despite the government adjusting the curfew to run from 1:00 AM-5:00 AM, Skelton-Cine called for its complete removal for economic reasons.

“If there are establishments legal and or illegal in this country that is becoming, that continues to be a problem to you then put a curfew on those establishments,” he said.

“But stop punishing the entire country and suffocating your economic stimulus opportunity by having this curfew on all of us,” he said.

He called on citizens to remain vigilant and take steps to protect themselves and their livelihood as a relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the VI, local health authorities have continued to push vaccination as the key factor to fight the pandemic and mitigate the spread of the virus.

Persons are also expected to follow the local public health policies, including the wearing of masks, social distancing and hand sanitisation.

    What areas of our economy would be affected by a 1am to 5 am curfew? Financial Services? Tourism? , Construction,? Retail and wholesale trading? , Marine services?

    The normal us history, and the present new normal is mostly filled with same old, same old. Whether VIP, NDP, Capital P, common p or an economy P. or politicians P, (politicians plans), most of those P (planded plans) do not respect for the true reason why politicians should plan serve the people''s best intrest. Only the players change, and tactics differ. You too got it now? If yes, don't let go of it.

      The old normal, and the new one is very much alike. Whether VIP, NDP, Capital P, common p or others, the same old, and continuing political manuevers are vigorously pursue by the current Administration as was those before. Only the players change, and politicians tactics differ slightly. The vast majority of the people are being sacrifice for the politicians eletist dreams, by means of political science (deceptions).

    Why Punish all of us, "the good and the bad, the law abiding and the law brokers" ( Why punish the entire country) Open up the Country remove the Curfew and those that's not adhearing to the curfew u can punish those,, Put the Curfew on those...Well said CSC, You will get my vote, Great suggestion. Hope you getting paid for these great advice,, Then again, I dont even think this govt is capable of listening to anyone, they not that humble..

    Clawed = Could you maybe post the reports of your consultancy work that you been paid on VINO. You posting a lot stuff we don't want to hear about and that we are not paying you for.     If the curfew is lifted, all night hell and madness will run amok. The scooters will run all night again. I know personally, people who are waiting for this to hang out, make noise, spread germs and make we local neighbors live a living HELL! People want to act irresponsibly must be handled like the irresponsible people that they are. DO NOT LIFT THE CURFEW!
