‘Tessanne Chin, Machel Montano, Mavado, Jah Cure – for Festival 2014
The word of Chin and Montano first reached this news site via its close relations with persons in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago who are among scores that have their tickets booked for their vacation in the Virgin Islands for the Festival season.
When contacted Ms Harrigan in confirming with Virgin Islands News Online said that the committee has done its best at pulling artistes from a wide cross section of sister Caribbean countries as they are on to the fact of the many people of various countries who would have worked, visited, or invested in the tourism industry of the VI to make it the place it is today.
August 8 and 9, 2014 are the dates set for Soca Sensation of the Caribbean Machel Montano HD and winner of the USA ‘The Voice’ competition Tessanne Chin are to take the stage in Carrot Bay respectively. Mavado is expected to headline at East End/Long Look on Tuesday August 5 in addition to DJ Birch, Xtreme Band, Winston Soso, Stylee Band and Baron.
“We will be having one of the top line performers Carimi from as far as Haiti, Poorsa and Skinny Fabulous from St Vincent and a nice line up of others,” she said, adding that they have also ensured that local artists, bands and otherwise performers, Dee Jays (DJs) are used at maximum during this year’s festival celebrations.
Other names hinted to by Ms Harrigan included Jah Cure, Iwer George, A-Team Band and Mavado.
She said that while the committee is likely to release the full line up to the public sometime today July 1, 2014 among those locals expected to hit the stages by storm is Ms Arliene T. Penn who will be making her come back on stage as an artiste.
Ms Penn in 2000 won the title of Calypso Queen on Virgin Gorda and in 2003 Calypso Queen on Tortola then went on the same year to take the first runner up title at the Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch Competition out of 20 Monarchs from around the Caribbean, Ms Harrigan reflected.
East End/Long Look for the 60th Jubilee will honour Mr Ifield ‘Spike’ Lettsome in his memory; Road Town will have the “Ms Iris Freeman Festiville” while Carrot Bay’s Festiville will be named for Mr. Bernardo ‘Nalo’ Leonard.
This news site will have further details on the 60th Jubilee celebrations for Festivals 2014 as they become available later today as promised by Ms Harrigan.

Well as Ritical would say..We wish you the best.
He's hitting and he's the most talk about Reggae Artist. His level of music has grab the world attention. It's not to late to book him. But if you do make sure it's in Town. Tortola nice so nice so nice
She dear not if she don't want to find her R@ss out of a job. This government victimize so many employees it isn't funny to even sing about them on stage.
I call them the bald head man government cause Orlando wearing a gray wig but he is as bald with no sense as it could get. LOL
Yes she's born in Jamaica but her roots of her farther and most of her family lives here from here (Penn)
She might not have recorded in a while but her songs are classified classic. She doesn't have to be the main artist but she be part of the 60th.
Just my thoughts
