Terminators claim 15th Volleyball title! Photoslide Included]
All the action took place in front of an appreciative crowd at the Multi Purpose Complex and the women duly delivered a thrilling five-setter with Phoenix Red defeating 2011 defending champions Legends, 16-25, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20 & 19-17.
The Reds’ were led in the form Henrietta Alexander, who recorded 15 kills, 1 block and 6 aces. Close behind her were Simone Glasgow with 8 kills, 2 digs, 3 aces and Tamisha Georges’ 4 kills, 1 block, 4 digs and 6 aces.
For the Legends, Lynelle Gumbs, who was later named MVP, had 11 kills, 11 digs and 1 ace, whilst Debbie Dagou had 13 kills, 11 blocks, 5 digs and 1 ace. Melissa Amey added 6 kills, and 2 block.
The following Men’s Championship game was no less an exciting encounter with 2011 defending champions Terminators putting Just Dream down in 4 sets to earn their 15th title.
Most Valuable Player, Neville Brathwaite led the way with 12 kills, 1 block, 6 digs and 1 ace in the 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22 victory. Denfield Solomon added 10 kills, 4 blocks and 3 digs and Damian Creque 12 kills and 1 dig.
For Just Dream, Canice Marquis had 16 kills, 1 block, 6 digs and 2 aces; Drexel Glasgow 8 kills, 1 block, 6 digs, 2 aces and Marlon Solomon 1 kill, 11 blocks and 3 digs.
