VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Steve E. Parillon, the coach of the 2025 VG Summer Jam Champions, Ice Connection, has rubbed some salt in the wounds of former champs Set It Off, who were swept in the Best of 5 Championships on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Parillon’s side retained their crown with an 88-83 win in Game 3 at A. Jeffrey Caines Arena in Virgin Gorda.

Victory was achieved in overtime against a battling Set It Off.

Bring Phil Jackson next time- Steve E. Parillon

Set It Off had ousted coach Kennedy H. Bass for Ronald Simmons, aka 'Gola', and the decision was close to paying off; however, Set It Off missed their opportunities from the free-throw line and then lost their way in overtime.

“Tell them bring Phil Jackson next time,” Parillon jibed after the game.

Philip D. Jackson, aka 'Phil, is the famous American basketball coach who led the Chicago Bulls to 6 NBA titles and then won five more titles as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ice Connection’s owner William A. Penn aka ‘Ice Willy’ praised Mr Parillon for his coaching and said Ice Connection would win VG Summer Jam until he (Mr Penn) retires.

Big game for Amadius Der-Weer

Meanwhile, Amadius K. Der-Weer was the chief scorer for Ice Connection on Saturday, with a game-high 18 points and a whopping 18 rebounds.

Khalid S. Gerard and Kadeem K. Jones finished with 16 points each. Zion Jones and Stephon S. Caul had 15 points apiece.

Shakeem Blackmore (16 points) and Shamarr A. George were the main scorers for Set It Off.

Meanwhile, coach Parillon said he had to go stride for stride with Set It Off, including not going too deep in the bench, because Set It Off were constantly relying on their strongest players.

He said this brought about tiredness and fatigue, but he kept telling his players to “hang in there, and let’s gut it out to the end”.

Parillon further said Set It Off is a good team, “but we have chemistry. We have kept this team now for a couple of years, and we have a set of guys who normally play together.”

He also said he told his team to trust the coach, as there were some players who didn’t want to be rested and that they reminded him of who he was as a player, never wanting to be subbed off.

Mr. Parillon congratulations to you and your team Ice Connection for your back 2 back championship wins. You guys deserved to win. If I was to coach any great team like Set it Off once they listen and execute my plan you will be defeated easily. Your team is a one dimensional offensive play the long range 3 point shot you lack defensive skills. However Set it Off fail to control the ball, failed to create defensive plays such as playing the 1-3-1 zone defense to stem the 3 point shooting forcing you to bring the ball. You know my offensive play i used with Jordan and Pippen and Shaq and Kobe. You couldn't beat me Mr. Parillon. I hope Set it Off would listen next time. It was not the coaches fault it was on the playing on the court that caused them to lose their carelessness on the court and not having a heads guard to control possession of ball. Congratulations again.
