ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Persons choosing to view the 2023 Miss BVI Pageant at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex from the comfort of their homes via the pay-per-view platform were left disappointed this evening, August 6, 2023, when, due to technical difficulties, they were unable to access the livestream.

According to reports reaching our newsroom, some viewers ended up missing the start of the show.

‘Technical issues’

Subscribers trying to access the livestream between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM were met with a notice that there were some “technical issues” and that the livestream would “be starting shortly".

Some persons expressed their disappointment on social media, including that the technical glitches should have been sorted out way before the show.

Others reminded that they had paid their money to view the pageant.

The cost to view the pageant via pay-per-view was $35.00.

According to reports, the livestream became accessible about 40 minutes after the show had started.

One of the persons associated with the Pageant Sub Committee subsequently confirmed to our news centre that the problem had been resolved.

Our news centre was subsequently told the livestream went off again around 9:30 PM for about 10 minutes.

Listen I understand what the BVif trying to do however that should have have a 2024 initiative. Especially if they didn’t do any real testing to see how how certain things would function. They should have just let the different medias go live. However hope they refunded the payments back.

STT don’t charge for village because they have major sponsors for carnival, like Heineken etc.. our little pop and shop sponsors can’t compare to Heineken.
