TB Lettsome Airport runway briefly closed after aircraft experienced flat tyre

TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI – Information reaching Virgin Islands News Online indicates that the runway at Terrence B. Lettsome Airport on Beef Island reopened last evening, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, following a brief closure.

This came after an incident involving a single-engine aircraft that experienced a flat tyre on the runway.

Reports indicated that the runway was closed, resulting in grounded flights and significant delays.

However, Mr Kurt A.G. Menal, Managing Director of the BVIAA, confirmed to Virgin Islands News Online that the incident has been resolved and the runway is now open.
