Taylor Simoneaux conquers 8th edition of KPMG Tortola Torture

PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Battling under the Caribbean sun, Taylor Simoneaux won the 8th edition of the Tortola Torture on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Simoneaux completed the 33.74-mile (54km) course in an impressive time of 4hrs 56 minutes and 54 seconds.

Nevertheless, Avery Collins, the 2018 winner, will hold on to the course record (04:35:47) for yet another year.

Sean Reardon-John took second in 6:13:48.4, while veteran Philippe Leroy endured third place in 6:38:53.6.

Sarah Latham endures Tortola Torture

Sarah Latham won the ladies' race in 6:34:29.0, a far cry from threatening the record of 04:58:26 set by Bree Thorpe in 2017.

Vicki Francis was second in 7:10:09.5 while third was Nora Zedick in 7:29:43.9.

Not Fast Just Furious!

The 2-person team race was won by Not Fast Just Furious in a time of 6:58:14.8. The record of 05:04:04 was set by Guy Williamson and Roddy Dos Santos in 2018.

The 3-person team race was won by The Good, The Bad and the Oldie in 5:16:05.80.

That course record, 04:58:06 set by Julius Farley, Rosmond Johnson and Reuben Stoby in 2017, also remains intact.

Tortola Torture circumnavigates Tortola with only 22% on the flat and the rest on hot and humid hills with 12,000 feet of elevation change.
