Tamarac Commissioner to host Meet & Greet for VI Premier & Hon Rymer Wednesday

MIAMI, Florida, USA- In celebration of the start of direct commercial flights from the mainland USA to the [British] Virgin Islands on June 1, 2023, Commissioner of the City of Tamarac, Hon Morey Wright Jr will be hosting a Meet and Greet for Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) and Minister for Communications and Works Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Commissioner Wright, who has strong Virgin Islands roots, had also presented a proclamation to the Mayor of Florida for June 1, 2023, to be declared Virgin Islands Day in the City of Tamarac.

The Meet and Greet will be held at Island Space Museum in Plantation, Florida from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

AA makes successful test flight to VI

Meanwhile, American Airlines made a successful test to Beef Island on May 25, 2023, in preparation for the inaugural passenger flight scheduled to land on June 1, 2023.

The American Airlines crew was greeted by government officials and gifted with tokens of appreciation from the BVI Tourist Board.

Members of Government present included Premier Wheatley, Deputy Premier Honourable Lorna G. Smith OBE (AL), Hon Rymer, Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley, Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie B. de Castro (AL), Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Honourable Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4), and Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Doctor the Honourable Karl Dawson (R1).

Members of the Airport Authority that were present included Managing Director, Mr Kurt A.G. Menal, Director of Finance, Mr Elvis J. Harrigan, Director of Compliance Mrs Lydia Rubaine-Sinclair, and other directors of the Board.

    Why is the guy from BVI Airport Authority who sealed the deal not going with them? These people take all the praise for themselves. If it was something negative he would of been thrown under the bus and these politicians would stare clear of it.. where is the fairness in this place mahn

    Florida does not have a mayor {as stated in the article} there are local Mayors for cities, towns etc.
