ROAD TOWN, Tortola – Chinese automaker GAC has reached a major global milestone, announcing 30 million vehicle owners worldwide, a record that makes it the fastest Chinese automaker to achieve the feat. The achievement arrives just months after GAC entered the Virgin Islands market through local dealer Tortola Auto Group (TAG).

Introduced to the Virgin Islands in November, GAC has quickly become one of the territory’s most talked‑about brands. TAG says customers are drawn by the company’s blend of advanced technology, premium features, contemporary styling and competitive value.

“The milestone of 30 million GAC vehicle owners worldwide is a powerful endorsement of the brand’s quality, innovation and reliability,” said TAG Managing Director Shan Mohamed. “At TAG, we are proud to contribute to this global success through the growing confidence and strong sales GAC continues to enjoy locally, as more customers choose a brand trusted by millions across the world.”

Encouraging sales in VI

Since the brand’s local launch, TAG reports encouraging sales across GAC’s expanding lineup. Popular models on the islands include the EMZOOM, EMKOO and S7, along with the fully electric HYPTEC HT.

The showroom mix reflects increasing local interest in modern design, advanced safety technologies and sustainable mobility.

TAG said it plans to broaden GAC’s BVI portfolio with additional models tailored to local lifestyles and driving conditions. The dealer expects the expanded lineup to give customers greater choice while supporting the territory’s rising demand for environmentally friendly and efficient vehicles.

GAC’s global success, TAG added, mirrors a growing enthusiasm among VI motorists. With a strong international reputation and a rapidly developing local customer base, the company said it looks forward to further growth in the territory as new models arrive.

As GAC marks this international milestone, TAG said the moment represents not only a triumph for the manufacturer but also the start of an “exciting new chapter” for the brand in the Virgin Islands.
