Selkridge, a senior middle hitter for the No. 6 Spartans, is the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week following an overwhelmingly dominant offensive week leading the Spartans to a 4-1 record. After a sweep over Palm Beach Atlantic, Selkridge hit a perfect 1.000 going 10/10 in only her two sets played against Valdosta State. Due to the dominance of Selkridge, the Spartans were able to get back on the winning track with victories over West Georgia and Christian Brothers. In those two matches, she had 13 and 12 kills with hitting percentages of .705 and .857, respectively.
This marks the third time a player from Tampa has earned a Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honor and represents the second time Selkridge has taken home the award, October 12, 2010 was the first time.
As way of celebration Selkridge grounded out nine kills at a .533 clip as the Spartans stayed perfect in the Sunshine State Conference, defeating Florida Tech in a Tuesday night matchup. UT won the contest 3-0 to keep their pristine SSC record at 9-0. Selkridge also blocked three attacks to round out the victory.
