SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI- Home side Sugar Boyz got their defence of the Wendol Williams Cup rolling with a 2-nil defeat of Police Panthers when play continued at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Ground on Sunday November 24, 2013.

The home fans, however, were made to wait until the second half before they were given something substantial to cheer about as both teams failed to trouble the score sheets until the 52nd minute when Terry Nanthon broke the deadlock.

Michael Castillo then sealed the deal in the 77th minute for the defending champions as well as recently crowned Virgin Gorda Cup winners.

The other home side, VG United, failed to ensure the night belonged only to Virgin Gorda teams as they went down 0-2 to Rebels F.C.

Former national striker Garnett Feron was on target in the 48th minute while Bryan Smith knocked in the second ten minutes later.

More action is set for Sunday December 1, 2013 with Old Madrid slated to meet Islanders and Ballstarz tackling One Love.
