Sugar Boys & Islanders to clash in BVIFA Futsal final

KINGSTON, Tortola, VI- The final of the BVI Football Association (BVIFA) Futsal Tournament on Saturday July 27, 2019 will be a Virgin Gorda versus Tortola affair at Cedar International School in Kingston, Tortola.

The championship game, set for 7:00pm, will be contested between Sugar Boys of Virgin Gorda and Islanders.

Sugar Boys, through helmet-tricks (3 goals each) from Delano Barbour aka ‘Mousie’ and Derol Redhead, disposed of ‘dark horse’ of the competition, One Caribbean, 8-5, in the first semi-final played July 20, 2019.

Mohamed Kachour and Michael Castello scored one each for Sugar Boys, whose only defeat in the preliminary round had been against One Caribbean.

One Caribbean had reached the semi-finals of the tournament after thrashing Panthers 15-0 on Thursday July 18, 2019 to catapult them past Wolues and Rebels for a place in the final four.

Islanders eliminate One Love

Meanwhile, In the second semi-final, Islanders dismantled One Love 6-2, with doubles from Francis Primo and Akeem Salmon and one each from Charles Bonnick and Oswart Holder.

Getting on the scoresheet for One Love were Richard Morgan and Michael Bachian, who took his lead tally to 23 goals.

The futsal competition attracted nine teams: Sugar Boys, Islanders, Wolues, Panthers, Rebels, Old Madrid, Virgin Gorda United, Sea Argo and One Caribbean.
