Sudden Death: Police Constable Dikembe Vanterpool passes

CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- A Police Constable, stationed at the Cane Garden Bay Police Station, has died suddenly, today, Monday, March 30, 2026.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), through Acting Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger, confirmed the death of an officer but did not reveal the name. However, Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) has been reliably informed that the officer is PC Dikembe Vanterpool.

PC Vanterpool joined the force in August 2019 as a member of Cohort 4.

PC Vanterpool is said to have been found unresponsive at the Cane Garden Bay Police Station and was subsequently pronounced dead there. 

ACoP Ullger also extended condolences to the officer’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time

While the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, an investigation has been opened.
