Student Premier & his Cabinet sworn in
The ceremony was attended by Governor Pruce’s shadow, Zara Pascoe.
The Premier for a Week, an initiative of the Premier’s Office, is designed to give young people firsthand experience in government and leadership, while fostering civic engagement and developing public speaking and decision-making skills.
Cabinet of Ministers
Alberto’s Cabinet of Ministers include Deputy Premier for the Week Rudell Stoute, Niaeika Aymer, Trishelle Phillips, and Zhane Waters. They also took the Oath of Allegiance during the ceremony, which was officiated by His Excellency, Governor Daniel Pruce.
According to a press release, during his tenure, Premier for a Week will gain practical, hands-on exposure to the inner workings of government. His experience will include participating in official government activities and high-level meetings, receiving governance training, and attending key meetings with Ministers of Government.
He will also engage with the public through a featured radio or television interview, work alongside a communications team, and be supported by a personal assistant.
Alberto may also travel with Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), between islands as scheduled, carry out assigned duties using official resources, and represent the Office of the Premier in a professional role throughout the week.
