CASTRIES, Saint Lucia- Preliminary reports indicate that the Phillip J. Pierre-led Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) has been re-elected to form the government in Saint Lucia.

Electors took to the polls today, Monday, December 1, 2025, from 6:00 AM for the country's general elections, with polls closing around 6:00 PM.

The SLP comfortably won 16 seats, according to preliminary reports.

Prime Minister Pierre and the SLP were re-elected in 2021 after losing in 2016 to the United Workers Party (UWP) of Allen M. Chastanet.

"Thank you, Saint Lucia," the SLP wrote in a simple post to its Facebook page moments ago.

Among the first regional leaders to congratulate Prime Minister Pierre was Dominica's Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, who wrote on his official Facebook page, "Congratulations to my friend and colleague Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and the St. Lucia Labour Party on their overwhelming victory at the polls! This renewed mandate is a clear and unambiguous vote of confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Pierre and his development plans for St. Lucia...Wishing Comrade Prime Minister Pierre every success in this new term."

More details to follow.
