Armony, 80, was injured in the incident on September 21 and received emergency treatment at the scene before being taken to Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force confirmed that Armony died in the early hours of September 22. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and have extended condolences to his family and loved ones.

Armony was widely recognised for his contributions to education, history and the arts. He was a founding member of the Okolo Drummers, later Okolo Tegremantine Arts Theatre, and worked as a drummer, tutor, performance poet and director.

He was also active in calypso as a singer, writer and composer, participating in Carnival and Culturama events and producing eight albums between 1989 and 2021, along with other recordings and a book of calypso lyrics.

Armony’s work spanned calypso, Afro-Caribbean drumming, poetry and spoken word, making him a notable contributor to the cultural life of St. Kitts and Nevis.
