I am happy for the young lady but in disagreement with paid board positions, unless the hours worked justify it

If you think a $900 stipend for sitting on a statutory Board with the duties and responsibilities that come along with it, it clearly says a lot about you!! As far as I am aware, the young lady is a lawyer, I am sure she is able to charge $400-$500 per hour, so pls stop! Congratulations on your appointment, Ms. Smirh and may you have a successful tenure.

This is very good for the young lady. However, there is no information on her; i.e. background, qualifications, career, etc. This is not the way to do things. It is not transparent and unprofessional.

If I am wrong to question this, let me know please.

So because the decision did not indicate her background and qualifications means that the appointment was not done in a transparent or professional manner? The vacancies were advertised and I am sure many open sources would give an indication of the background and qualifications of the young professional Virgin Islander. Perhaps the writer of the article could have done some research on the young lady to satisfy those amongst us who must find fault with everything!!

Not because your appintment wreaks conflict of interest, all others should. Appointment of Board Members should incude qualifications to ensure that the person selected is not another waste of time.

If you know about her you would know she is not well respected as a professional and it begs the question of whether ppl are not afraid of a repeat COI. Arrogance and bad mind never prevails
