Social Security Board celebrates its 45th anniversary


The SBB in a social media post on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, said it is celebrating 45 years of dedicated service to the people of the Virgin Islands (VI).
“As we unveil our 45th anniversary logo, we reflect on a legacy built on trust, resilience, and community. Our anniversary theme, ‘The Way Forward’, represents a renewed commitment to innovation, connection, and wellness,” the post added.

“It is a tribute to the visionaries who laid our foundation and a promise to continue evolving to meet the needs of future generations.”
45 years as a pillar of strength in VI
The Virgin Islands Social Security Board was established on July 2, 1980, following the enactment of Act No. 17 of 1979 by the Legislative Council.
“For 45 years, the Virgin Islands Social Security Board has stood as a pillar of strength, reliability, and care in our community. As we mark this milestone, we celebrate the countless lives touched, the promises kept, and the unwavering dedication to social protection and financial security.”
It added that the anniversary is a reflection of the past, a tribute to the people the Social Security Board Serves and the partnerships built.
“It’s a moment to honour the legacy of those who laid the foundation and to recognise the continued efforts of those who carry the mission forward today…We remain committed to the people of the Virgin Islands.”
