CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- The two-day BVI Music Beach Festival wrapped up in Cane Garden Bay with electrifying performances by Jamaican artistes I-Octane and Kalado on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The focus on Friday, June 27, 2025, was on genres such as rock and roll, Latin, and soca, with performances by local bands and DJs from across the region, including tributes to Caribbean nations such as St Vincent and Guyana.

On Saturday; however, it was a mixture of Soca and conscious Reggae to dancehall vibes.

I-Octane show!

Among the acts were MJ Blues, Sistah Joyce, and I-Octane, alongside Kalado.

The two Jamaican artists lit up the festival with energetic performances that saw the crowd get involved. Some of them even dared to get on stage to dance with the performers, while some males tried to prove they were strong enough to lift heavy women.

Another crowd pleaser was Mr Killa, who appeared to have a large crowd  following.

Other local artistes included a Type of Toad and 3Gs.

The show on the beach drew approximately 1000 patrons each night, a significant reduction from previous music festivals.

Many residents criticised what they perceived as "weak planning and promotion", as many claimed they were not even aware of the show until the opening day.

Efforts to get a comment from one of the organisors, Ronford Cline, were unsuccessful up to the time of publication.

The BVI Music Beach Festival received sponsorship from the Government of the Virgin Islands; however, it is unclear to what value.

Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) told our News Centre he would be disclosing that information “at a press conference soon”.

This is what happens with greed no one wants to participate anymore. Everything gone to the dogs for adults. Adults needs an over 40 club and then I will go. My oldest is almost 30 and I don't want to hang out with his friends. Everything is expensive so I rather play the same music home. All people do when they go out is watch other people and stay on their phone. What a dumb lineup. Bring big artist for that kind of money you all want to get it. I rather it be free or 10.00 and that's how everyone I know say the same thing and none of us went. Going out isn't fun anymore

Look at the difference in the Crowd make at SK music fest when Kartel is performing and when Anita Baker is performing. Anita Baker Crowd was Classy & mature and they enjoyed her...She brought a band and Kartel a computer. No way cartel worth 1.5 Mil U.S $$. Anita Baker got just one Million $$ U.S. BVI don't have that kind of money and for music fest to come back strong, We need High end quality artists..Not CG Bay..CG Bay had its time...That spot where Kartel show was held should be festival space, music and August Festival..Move Music Festival to October holiday..Can't compete with SK music fest..

The BVI Beach music festival achieved the goal it set out to accomplish. Keep the momentum going and as a springboard for a bigger 2026 Music Fest which will continue to strengthen the Tourism product for the entire BVI

Look at some of these photos that is supposed to showcase good adult fun. Laughable. A set of vulgarity. The BVI has been falling for years, we have lost our identity as a people. And the sad thing is, the people in these vulgar photos not even from here, but they headlining on social media, showing ALL of us the FUN awe missed out on this weekend. Jokes. Natalio stop wasting our money PLEASE!!! If our demands too much for you as the premier, STEP DOWN!
