ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is urgently seeking the assistance of the public in locating a highly dangerous individual, John Dawn Emmanuel, known by the alias 'Small Brent'.

The RVIPF in a press release today, May 15, 2025, said Emmanuel is currently wanted for questioning in connection with a recent murder committed within the Territory, but did not state when the murder was committed.

The most recent murder occurred on May 10, 2025, at Freshwater Pond on the western end of Tortola. Nyron A. Erickson was killed on the spot after coming under heavy gunfire.

The murder suspect, according to the RVIPF, is considered a serious threat to public safety and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Police said Emmanuel has also been associated with kidnapping, extortion, and multiple murders in Trinidad and Tobago and elsewhere in the region and should not be approached by members of the public under any circumstances.

Preliminary investigations, according to the RVIPF, indicate that the suspect previously operated under a different identity, Brent Dain Danglade, and might still have access to identification/travel documents in that name.

Public warned against assisting suspect

The RVIPF also stressed the grave consequences of aiding or abetting offenders.

"Assisting an offender is a serious criminal offence, and anyone found to be harbouring, facilitating, or otherwise supporting this suspect will face the full force of the law," the press release stated.

Members of the public are being urged to lock and secure their vehicles, boats or vessels, and homes to reduce opportunities for victimisation or their properties being accessed or used by this individual.

The RVIPF said it is actively pursuing all leads and continues to work with other local, regional, and international law enforcement partners to locate and apprehend this individual.

"The efforts to arrest Emmanuel are being executed with dispatch to reduce any risks posed to the public," the RVIPF said.

Members of the public with any information on his whereabouts are urged to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas at (284) 800-8477.

The public is again strongly advised not to confront, approach, or assist this suspect under any circumstances.

"Your safety is our priority—please allow trained law enforcement officers to handle the situation."

Dangerous man to be running around on our little island. We need to upgrade our system so that it flags faces as well as names. These big island criminals need to do this little country a favour and stay away. Good job, Commissioner Vanterpool. Picture and wanted poster in full force and that gives us an opportunity to assist you. Other Commissioners believed in hiding these perps. Hunt him down and get him out of here. Of course we have to punish him first if he killed someone here so that means years of feeding him. Some persons who migrate to our country and are considered law abiding citizens need to, please, do not allow their criminal family members to migrate here. Crime affects everyone and a country of this size, we are in big trouble. Let them roam the streets of their big island home. Please, I beg you. God help us. Including the teenagers who are showing signs of criminal intent, leave them too.
