Skelton-Cline reiterates calls for ‘national conversation’ on VI’s future
Speaking on the October 5, 2021, edition of his radio talk show ‘Honestly Speaking’ on ZBVI 780 am, the local clergyman said he remains concerned about the path the VI is currently taking.
Talks needed on the future of VI - Skelton-Cline
“I am deeply concerned, very much afraid of the current path and trajectory that we are on, and so again I'm saying to us, I am calling for a national conversation across ethnic lines.”
He continued, “Anybody and everybody who deems by time or by birth that this is their home, this is their permanent residence you have a right to the table and you have a right to say,” he said.
Skelton-Cline set out an informal policy that to participate in the national conversation persons must go beyond the current affairs.
“Failure for us to come together my brothers and sisters will be a serious miscarriage of our God intended future and that about children and grandchildren,” he said.
He said leaders must see before and see more than everyone else has seen and leadership must also see further than everyone else.
Leadership must be able to mobilise - Skelton-Cline
“Leadership must mobilise and martial persons within this sphere of influence to a common cause and goal. It cannot be around the current circumstances because circumstances change on a regular basis. It must be around a cause,” he said.
This cause, he said, must be bigger than them and their current situations and must be able to outlive current generations.
“Our role simply would be to carry the baton for our leg of the journey… set aside the personalities, set aside whatever political misgivings you have, because it is important to stop living in your feelings,” he further advised.
Skelton-Cline called for the people of the territory to ‘reason together’ to formulate the best way forward in both official and unofficial capacities.

Some Wales for some unknown reason beach themselves, and without quick and right help they died.
There is always a leader of each group. Question: 1. Do the other wales compelled to follow the leader on a suicide mission? Personally I don't think that they have to, but they by large do.
Question: 2. Because of the overwhelming amount of factual information that you and I now know in reference to the Coi probing of mismanagement of our finances by political leaders and others that support them, should we take (a) advice from, (3) agree to form a protest movement against the UK rule in cohesion with the likes of CSC, and others of similar mindset?
I am not sure what you may or may not do, but I know for sure that I will never be s part of such prankster's show, that peg up a house built on corruptive greed, and diverse mental instabilit cause by misguided lust of material gains irrespectful of righteous principles.
My people, chose wisdom.
WHALES are species of sea mammal.
There are smaller steps we must take in order to progress as a country and as a people. And we need to be more independent without actually being independent until we get some greater form of unity, fairness, and standards of excellence in everything we do. Until better can be done let worse continue.
We need continued socio-economic growth and we need political stability. We do not need people living off the public purse to tell us we need to be independent. Cline has not contributed any more to the society than I have personally or than many of us have. So attempts to justify his contracts & positions are ridiculous. I do it for free so can he. I will always do the best I can for the BVI whether I am popular for it or not, or paid for it or not.
Cline has to find himself back in the church and leave the politics alone. Can't serve 2 masters at the same time. Our people need more knowledge about civics, culture, history, global norms, customer service, racial pride without prejudice, and many other things. A leader should focus on these things and not fighting a colonial power that has been a colonial power. We need BVI loyal citizens who understand themselves in a global environment. We can't be independent if all we can see is Anegada to Jost Van Dyke. The world is smaller than it used to be. So our minds must be broader than it used to be also.
