ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Police have disclosed that skeletal remains found in Brewers Bay in December 2021 have been identified as belonging to Walter Todman who was reported missing since September 2018.

“Forensic results of skeleton remains found in a ghut leading to Brewers Bay positively match that of the missing male Walter Todman,” the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) stated in a press release today, July 21, 2022.

It said DNA samples taken from a skull found at the scene and analysed by DNA International returned with a 99 percent match to Walter Todman’s siblings.

In December 2021, hikers in that area discovered the skull near to a ghut which leads to Brewer’s Bay, approximately 600 yards downhill from his home. A pair of trousers matching the description of the ones he was last seen wearing were found approximately 100 feet away.

Extensive search for missing man had come up empty-handed

Walter Todman, 83, was reported missing from his Todman Estate home on 15 September 2018 by family members.

For two weeks following the report, Police, Virgin Islands Search and Rescue and several other search teams extensively combed through the area around his home and the steep hillside below with the use of the K-9 team and drones, but he was not found.

Police said family members have been updated on the forensic findings.

Poor Toddy. How can these “dogs” not be able to track someone a mere 600 yards from their house? If you ask me them need to be put down.

This is a sad outcome though it may be of some relief to Mr Todman’s family that he has been found. A tragedy for all concerned. RIP sir.

You all people just like talking. Did you came out to assist? That's the best of you all, criticise and do nothing.
A proper search was conducted for over two weeks with the assistance of family members, members of the community and different Social Clubs.
I was present on two different occasions and is satisfied that the authorities and who assisted did their best for what I saw and where the records showed that they searched.
So you Ney Sayers please go find something to do with ah you time. If you don't understand let me say this way.
GET UP ON YOUR BACK SIDE AND DO SOMETHING FOR THE WORLD.
