Sizzla brings the heat to 'wet' International Reggae Night

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Not even rain could stop Jamaican reggae superstar Sizzla Kolanji (born Miguel Orlando Collins) from delivering a sizzling performance at the International Reggae Night at Lavida Cottoy Festiville in Road Town on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Sizzla, 50, was no doubt the hot favourite at the event held as part of the Virgin Islands' 72nd Emancipation celebrations.

The legendary reggae artiste, whose hit songs include "Just One of Those Days,” “Solid As A Rock,” “Thank U Mamma,” and “Rise to the Occasion", made the night all worth it.

Earlier, the ladies especially had their treat from Shanniel Muriel, who is known for her songs like "Same Guy", "The Pain", and Yamabella". Muriel is also from Jamaica.

Other performers included CP4, Kyah Nation, Ritical, and OMG.

The Disc Jockey was DJ Taz, while the host was Floyd P. Burnett, aka 'Heritage'.

Last night was Flag Night (Rep Ya Flag) Soca Invasion, with artistes such as Patrice Roberts, Xclusive, Triple Kay, Lil Natty & Thunda, Problem Child, and Vibe.

Free Admission to Lavida Cottoy Festiville tonight

Tonight, Sunday, August 2, 2026, is a "free admission" night at Lavida Cottoy Festiville.

Artistes include UFO, GBM Nutron, Kerwin Du Bois, Big Shaw, and Pumpa/Blind Earz.

The Theme for this year's Emancipation Festival is: “Culture Rising, Hearts Aligned, VI Festival, One of a Kind”. The Slogan is: “Echoes of Heritage, Rhythm In The Mix, Celebrate Virgin Islands Festival 2026”.
