ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The original Showtime band that has represented the Virgin Islands with distinction and provided much entertainment for the many fans home and abroad is promising what is already expected due to its colourful and successful history- big things for Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival 2013 and beyond.

“The Showtime band is hotter than ever right now,” said Mr Eustace ‘Boss’ Freeman, one of the leading persons in the 13-year old local band, during an exclusive interview with Virgin Islands News Online.

Like several other local bands in the Virgin Islands, Showtime band is keen on ensuring that the social aspects of residents and non-residents alike are well fed with good music and great entertainment.

Showtime’s album for this year is entitled ‘Good over Evil’ as the band members are very keen about promoting good throughout and have decided to do so through their music. “We want the fans to be the same way going forward,” said ‘Boss’, who added that his fellow band members are best described as the ‘A’ team with a great chemistry. “We want to keep that chemistry going and growing,” he added.

Easily ranked as the number one band in the Virgin Islands, Showtime is one of the main features for the festival season. The band was on stage last night, July 31, 2013 backing up the Soca Monarch show and providing the after-show live entertainment throughout the remainder of the night. “We have been approaching festival like it’s our festival and we just going hard, we going hard. Whenever we hit the stage we go to put on a show and so far the public has been loving us so we love the public for loving us and we are going to continue doing the good work,” said Mr Freeman.

Hot on the charts for the band this festival is one Mr Freeman described as ‘very hot’. The track features Pumpa and the Unit. “This is a crazy, crazy track, it’s called ‘Lap Dance’ and people love this track.”

Meanwhile, the festival season is being used as preparation for upcoming assignments abroad since, according to Mr Freeman, immediately following festival they would be engaged in a lot of international tours and performances and further taking the Virgin Islands music to the international arena and markets. “That’s what we are gearing up for and that’s what we are hoping to do in the future,” Mr Freeman stated emphatically.

As for the loyal Showtime band fans, Mr Freeman expressed much gratitude for their continued support and encouragement. “I just want to thank the fans for supporting Showtime band for the 13 years now. Continue to support Showtime band, be a fan of music and continue loving yourself and be good,” Mr Freeman said.

I like both bands to be honest but which songs of the 2 lead singers in VI Show Time won that international award for best soca song or what ever the awards was, was it not Boss song, yes both bands put out great music but when they was one band thas when they was at there best. VI Show Time need to change them name last time take Jam band for example when they had spilt up the had 2 jam band but then one of them changed their name to jam times and was playin all of the old jam band songs them so why VI Show time cant do the same, jam times had most of the members from jam band as well but the real fact is members come and go but the name still lives on could be with only one original member it is still show time band thas the name that lives on and real fans of the band show follow the band not it's members real fans loyal to the band and no matter wah the band goin through they wouldn't just jump ship like some of these so call fans that talkin bout VI Show Time gah most of the members fact remain is they are not the real show time yes they help build the band but once u leave a band u can't be claiming like in them ads when them had the CD lunching stating that the band that brought you this song and that song when in fact those songs came out under the show time brand not vi show time only in tola u could do this time of sh*t

I does want to know if ShoWTime or even VI ShowTime really know of when dem starting playing music and bringing out songs for the people to enjoy. I remember that it had to b in 1998 dem man bring out this tune call Africa - Showtime got dem jumping up n another slow tune followed by entire album back n 99 with tunes like Jam Jam Jam, Truckman n CupCake to mention a few however I guess dem years don't count when it was all about fun. I grow up with all dem man following their music from school days. So if I count properly that's like 15 years n counting as the same unit

Boss has went away and understood what sells what draws people. He has taken music to another level and yes it sounds real good compared to what I have heard. I would say after listening to them in the states they now have a chance to compete with other Caribbean soca band . Bvi this is your change to get on the map. Release boss and he go fly for your country trust me
