Aint this the same youth from Fort Hill that beat that caucasian ruby player and serve some time in juvenile court and spend sometime in jail? Yes, parents are to be blamed. 15 years and out on the street after 1am? What does that say about parental control. Sad.

There needs to be a curfew in place for these young men. They are too idle on the streets. The police also need to be checking the bars where some of these young men frequent and also those corners in Belle Vue, Purcell, Baughers Bay, Huntums Ghut, Long Bush, Lower Estate, East and West. Our young men seem to want to have a gang mentality and anyone on the road after 12 midnight who is not coming from a REAL JOB - LOCK THEM UP! There needs to be stiffer penalties when anyone is sent to Balsam Ghut. It is obviously too easy because these boys seem to want a Balsam Ghut Degree. They don't even know that this hinders them later in life. Who wants to hire a convict? You think the US or UK Govt will let you in with those records. We as a country - politicians, parents, teachers, police - EVERYBODY - have to take this crime under control. PUT ON THE CURFEW!

You stupid jacka$$! If he didn't have a gun to defend himself and others, then what would you have said? If the story had said "Two killled by gunmen after being robbed, gunmen escaped, no leads, police investigating!" What would you have said? Now we have two masked who were pumped with hot steel and now off our streets. Given the brazen nature of this attempt in my opinion this probably wasn't their first robbery. There are even reports that they have threatened people at other establishments, bold faced about robbing them. Anybody masked down and armed should be shot on sight, I don't care who say what! Tortola don't have no need for that nonsense! Masked down, shot gun to steal a chain? You got to be kidding me! If they do charge the man who shot them, they better pick a jury from overseas because no locals, myself included will find him guilty for doing us such a favor! For months we have been on here crying about how lawless the country had become. How we are scared to be out of our houses after dark. How we don't party or go for a drink anymore because we scared. We have to spend what we dont have to install camera and security system at home. We have kids that nee counselling and help after their family houses have been robbed. Now that one is caught in the act all of a sudden we should have sympathy? REAL TALK!!!

Those boys were the stupid ones. Why would you leave your parents house with mask, and guns to go steal from someone? You know fully well that you may never make it back home. They were the ones who needed to think about their wicked plot.

What is wrong with a society where some don’t believe it is the parents responsibility and social DUTY to control their minor children? What this young man was doing out on the streets at that hour of the morning is beyond me. SMH. What he was doing hanging around with a 19 year old, allegedly ROBBING a business and carrying guns, is another very BIG question! Is this his first run in with the law? I find that highly unlikely. There must have been signs prior to this that he was heading for trouble! For heaven’s sake, get the curfew in place and some means of dealing with inattentive parents who appear unable or unwilling to care for and control their MINOR children effectively. Children who are not properly supervised should be placed in the care of others who can and will supervise them properly. I think that due to all the crimes being committed by very young people, it is time to establish a child welfare department and a home for wayward youth in the BVI. Each of the youths who have been involved with crime should be removed from their homes and placed in a well supervised home or halfway house. The home should have professional people (at least one behavioural psychologist) and para-military personnel who are well equipped to deal with and retrain violent children. The children should be electronically monitored for the duration of their sentence. Some people simply shouldn’t be parents at all.

Parents need to be alert and to know where they children are. When parents go to sleep some kids will creep out of the house at night to make mischief. Parents keep checking the children's room during the night. Take control of your kids. Now, those kids don't deserved to die for stealing a chain or whatever, they could have been shot in the foot but not to kill, do we want to become people in the middle east and africa....just now they will be killing for just a peice of bread. The people who shot those kids needs to be jail for life. I am not saying they were right to go on someone's property to steal but the law is there to deal with them not you.
