Shake-up @ BVIHSA: Patricia Malone-Smith & Levor Lettsome out!
Board Members are tight-lipped on the reason/s for the sudden decision and it’s unclear who is now in charge of the Authority.
However, it is believed that the shakeup came after an internal audit of some aspects of the organization where the BVIHSA is now at the stage of recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Sources have indicated that there has been growing tension between senior staff of the Health Services Authority and some members of the Board of Directors.
The good and the bad
While the story is unfolding, our news center has not obtained a copy of the internal audit report. The last confirmed CEO was Dr Ronald E. Georges, who was removed from office and sent to the Ministry of Health and Social Development before his contract had expired.
The reported move to send the two officers on leave comes at a time when the Territory is managing very well with its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as the ruling Virgin Islands Party Government led by Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) has been praised locally, regionally and internationally for their handling of the worst pandemic in 100 years.
Attempts to reach the Chairman of the BVI Health Services Authority, Mr Moleto A. Smith Jr, and the Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) went unanswered.

Where I am working we need to be accredited and if the BVIHSA don’t want her I will talk to authority and let them hire her, she is not my friend but I know she can do the work here and we can be accredited and able to do more things here, Mrs. Malone –Smith I know you are a person to the point but I hope that the government sees your value and stop this foolishness and reinstate you. Just know I respect your hard work, I left the hospital because of salary.
People of BVI I can confirm that accreditation is at BVIHSA because of her. Dr. George’s came after but everything was done. stop saying things and slandering people name when you don’t know the truth of a story. This woman did more than any other CEO that was there.
The only thing I could not understand about her she would always say my hospital, so one day I ask her why she would say my hospital, she said when you consider a place yours you would take care of it the way you would care for something you own.
Again I would say just give respect where it is due.

She has plain out said it to many of the staff that works under her. She does not like locals and where ever she can replace one she will. She has also said that when she leaves a job, she leaves it under confusion and some place to this day cannot catch themselves. She has not left as yet because she play herself up to the new board members and one of the first question she ask after feeling them out is How they feel about expat getting a job in her department? I beg you please do not put her in charge. I have nothing against expat but I feel locals should be given a chance and if they not up to par you can then replace them. She outright hate many citizens of this country. Says many negative things about us but still don't want to leave the place.

The Information T**********r needs to go also he been causing alot of problems down there for years most of the government officials knows about him and won't do anything about it, he too was sent on leave and the Minister of health brought him back, all of the staff that work with him was either removed form or fired without good reason and the past HR was 9n on everything with him, there was a young man that use to work in the Transportation Unit has post was made redundant and weeks after he give it to a friend of his that's working in Road Town Clinic and still managing the vehicle how is this possible now that advertising the post again that young man needs to take them to court
