The women stepped into new ambassadorial roles as the Women in Need British Virgin Islands (WINBVI) hosted its signature fundraising event under the theme ‘Margaritas, Mariachi & Memories’.

Baptiste-Henry was crowned Mrs British Virgin Islands Curvé, as outgoing ambassador Sabrina J. Penn officially passed on her title.
A dynamic entrepreneur and certified fitness trainer, the new Mrs BVI Curve co-owns Alpha Fitness VI, a wellness company dedicated to transforming lives across the Virgin Islands and the wider Caribbean. In her role as marketing manager, she also supports the professional journey of her husband, bodybuilder Jermaine Henry.

A 30-year-old Virgin Islander, Herbert is a passionate community advocate whose work focuses on uplifting women, children, and families. Her dedication to service spans more than a decade, including 11 years with the Rotaract Club of Tortola, where she served as Treasurer. She is also the founder of Helping Hands Org, a nonprofit initiative providing essential baby items and groceries to mothers in need — a mission inspired by her own experiences and commitment to ensuring no mother faces hardship alone.
In collaboration with the BVI Health Services Authority, Herbert supports initiatives aimed at strengthening the breastfeeding community and is a trained Lactation Counselor, offering guidance and advocacy for maternal and child health.

If we really care about progress, the focus should be encouraging effort not dismissing people without understanding their full story!!
Why all the negativity? its coming across more like personal dislike than genuine concern. And if we are being honest by your logic, is Miss BVI "foolishness" too? What exactly do winners do after the crown? the car? the trips? Do you consistently see the same level of community engagement? Do you see them bringing awareness to their chosen platform? At least these women are putting themselves out there, stepping up and trying to make a difference!! That should be acknowledged, not torn down! If we want better for our community the conversation should be different! not disrespectful! not driven by negativity!
