ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), in a press release today, May 23, 2021, urged drivers to exercise extreme caution as road conditions have deteriorated over the last few hours.

"Today several vehicles have slid off the road as a result," the RVIPF said, adding that present flooding and minor rockslides can make driving dangerous.

The RVIPF encouraged motorists to stay off the roads at this time.

"If it is necessary to drive, headlights can help increase visibility and make it easier for other vehicles to see you, therefore avoiding collisions.

"If your windshield wipers are on, your lights should be too. Drive slowly and stay a safe distance from vehicles ahead of you," the RVIPF advised.

An experience driver knows that consistent drissle is almost like pouring oil on the Road, it gets slipppery, in contrast, heavy rain creates traction....So for those not so experience driverd, take heed, pay attention, ..All drivers drive carefully..Keep eyes on Road..

I sincerely hope that PwD will be out clearing the rocks and mud off the roads. Please make the roads safe for motorists especially those traveling the hill side roads.

Wth all the money the Government took in from about 1988 until 2017 from the BVI company fees (we had 700, 000 BVI companies I believe at one time, so a lot of fees were generated), you would think BVI would have roads and drains that could stand heavy rain. Other hilly places in the world where it rains a lot do. I wonder why that isn't the case? Perhaps all the money got spent on the excellent education system?
