Set It Off & Ice Connection win weekend’s VG Summer Jam games

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Former champions Set If Off and defending champions Ice Connection were both victorious when basketball action in the 2025 VG Summer Jam continued this past weekend at Anthonie Jeffrey Caines Sports Arena in Virgin Gorda.

Set It Off defeated Tun It Up, 77-68, on Friday, September 5, 2025, while Ice Connection took care of Without A Doubt, 83-78, on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Shakeem Blackman really ‘Set It Off’

The victory for Set It Off came on the back of Shakeem Blackman, who scored a whopping game-high 32 points.

Stephano K. Paul put in 11 points, and Duron R. Phillip supported with 10 points.

For Tun It Up, Elijah Peltier, 19 points, and Xiimoar Gunn, 18 points and 11 rebounds, were the men reaching double-figure scores.

Wins for Development & East

In Division B play on Friday, Development overcame Mission 65-23, thanks to a 20-point performance from Zion Phillip, and East, owing to 39 points from Jomoiri Dagou, 36 points from Riquan Fahie and 24 points from Antwon Robinson, clipped the wings of Eagles, 137-76.

Ice Connection overcome Without A Doubt

Zion Jones, 23 points, was the man on fire for Ice Connection but received good support from Khalid S. Gerard, 14 points, and Amadius Der-Weer, who netted 10 points.

Without A Doubt saw their points come from Kimron Telemaque, who sank 15 points, and Joash Victor, who sent down 14 points.

The action continues this Friday and Saturday.
