ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has said the recently held retreat provided Ministers of Government and senior Government officials with an opportunity to explore avenues aimed at achieving optimal performance.

Former Permanent Secretary Mr Clyde Lettsome delivered the keynote address while the session was facilitated by former Deputy Governor and Senior Public Officer in Anguilla Mr Stanley Reid.

'Need for open & honest communication' discussed

Premier Wheatley said the presentations were extremely powerful and illuminating,” adding, “I believe that the session formed the basis for planned ongoing solution-driven engagement to occur throughout this Government’s term in office,”

During the retreat, the need for open and honest communication in maintaining successful working relationships was emphasised. To this end, public officials committed to their responsibilities with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication.

Meanwhile, Junior Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr the Honourable Karl Dawson, said, “Those who were involved in the retreat felt that it was a very worthwhile exercise. It promoted enhanced understanding about roles, and will contribute towards improving working relationships.”

They can only try to adopt a new approach but this won't last longer that 3 month. Then they right back to their bad ways...Certain Jobs require certain personalities..Like they say round Pegs in round holes but this rarely happen as work place are invested with bias and favouritism...So the nice, pleasant, calm and polite person is in the back office, while the hot headed, rude fake sits at the front desk..

Attorney General (AG) present at that retreat with big smile on her face and she is not telling the Commissioner of Police and his senior managment team ( smt) that they must stop
following the advice of the DPP( Director of Public Prosecution ( DPP) violating people rights, including fellow Police Officers.

Plus let them know that she ( Attorney General) is the only lawful and legal advisor to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and not the Director Of Public Prosecution ( DPP).
The problem the Attorney General must come to realise is that, after the Police Force follow the orders of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and then legal action is taken against the Police Force ,it is then the attorney General to face the courts to try and defend all the wrong and unlawfull action of the DPP and Police Force.
Wake up Attorney General, wake up.
The law doesn't or should not know names and position but the Law.
That means if you are wrong you are wrong.

The ones that created the problem can't be the ones to fix the problem. Everyone of them are PROBLEM CREATORS!
