Selroy Hanley charged for stabbing incident @ Purcell

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– Officers of the Criminal Investigation Team have charged one male in relation to the stabbing incident on Wednesday morning, August 31, 2022, that left another male with several puncture wounds about his body.

Selroy Hanley, 33, of Purcell Estate was charged with wounding with intent and being armed with an offensive weapon, following the incident which took place on the Purcell Estate Basketball Court.

The charge of wounding with intent carries a maximum term of life imprisonment.

The male victim continues to receive treatment for his injuries at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital, police stated in a press release today, September 2, 2022.

He is said to be in serious but stable condition.

Hanley will appear before the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

    That basketball court is in a dangerous area.
    Only idlers hang out there selling their weed and crack to make a living.
    The crime scene crew need to run in on them a times and give them a serious shake down.
