ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The search is officially underway for the next Mrs British Virgin Islands Curvé, an initiative dedicated to celebrating full-figured women who lead, inspire, and foster positive change across their communities.

The call for delegates invites dynamic women across the Territory who embody confidence, resilience, and purpose. Designed as more than a traditional pageant, the platform emphasises leadership, female empowerment, and philanthropy, offering contestants a stage to share their personal journeys and advocate for meaningful causes.

A Platform for Empowerment

Organisers highlighted in a Facebook post that the title is tailored for women ready to embrace their curves and use their voices to uplift others.

"Your story, your strength, and your journey could be the inspiration another woman needs," organisers noted in the announcement. "This could be your time to inspire, your time to empower, and your time to shine."

The Mrs Curvé division provides delegates with an avenue to champion body positivity, challenge conventional beauty standards, and advocate for community-focused initiatives.

Continuing a Legacy of Excellence

The incoming ambassador will follow a strong tradition of Virgin Islands representatives making an impact both locally and internationally. Previous titleholders have used their platforms to advance charitable work and represent the Territory at the prestigious Mrs Globe international competitions.

Eligible women interested in representing the Virgin Islands, building personal and professional leadership skills, and making a lasting community impact are encouraged to submit their applications or contact the local committee for additional delegate requirements.

In the meantime, Shackema Baptiste-Henry and Kimberly A. Herbert were crowned 2026 Mrs BVI Curve and Mrs BVI Globe, respectively, at a coronation ceremony and fundraising dinner at Maria's By the Sea on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

    Imagine being a young teenage girl struggling with obesity and come on here to see all this hateful comments against such a show. At the very least you all should be kind or say nothing if you have nothing good to say. Big girls deserve a platform to shine as well. They could potentially help someone with self acceptance and to bolster courage and confidence. Just be kind!

    The Body Mass Index of a healthy person should be 25 or under and if its 30 or over then its obesity. Being overweight or obese should not be a cause of celebration because of the medical implications that can arise like the onset of diabetes or issues with knee or hip joints or organs. Obesity is also the cause of a shorter lifespan. In Tortola I see daily people, including children, who are overweight or fat so the Government should be sponsoring or encouraging healthier eating and more exercise. Then the NHI bill will not be so high. Check your BMI online.
