TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- “Some people need liberation from addictions, and other challenges. We are going to make this as real as real can be, so come out Virgin Islands. We are here and ready to go.” These were the words of international evangelist and motivational speaker Pastor Marvyn O. Smith on arrival at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on May 16, 2026, for The Bible Speaks Empowerment Series starting this evening, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Festival Grounds in Road Town.

‘Fresh springs of motivation’

The dynamic youth leader and Guyanese, who was recently appointed Associate Youth Director of the Inter American Division (IAD), which has over 3 million members, said the 3-week evangelistic series is designed to “build up and uplift” all in attendance.

“It is going to be an experience where every person who comes will leave motivated. We will be searching the word of God with fresh springs of motivation, how we could improve, strengthen our lives, and of course, it’s all grounded in the Bible, Christ the solid rock.”

Pastor Smith, who is no stranger to the Virgin Islands, said he is looking forward to a great evangelistic series of practical lessons. “I understand the tent is up, and I am excited. We are going to start on a high note, with a big bang, and I am looking forward to seeing all of Tortola under that tent.

‘Lives will be changed’

Deputy Coordinator of the event, Elder Jacob Adolphus, who was part of the welcoming team at the airport on Saturday, said Pastor Smith is a mighty man of God who has been used by God many times to deliver His message.

“I can guarantee you that even this time, it is a fresh anointing. It’s fresh oil coming out of the bottle. You can’t afford to miss it. As he said, great things are in store. Lives will be changed, hearts will be changed, souls will be won to call Jesus their Lord and Saviour,” Elder Jacobs said, adding that the evangelistic series is catering for the spiritual, physical and mental well-being of man.

Praise & Worship

The praise and worship experience is also expected to be elevated with the presence of Trizanna D. Atkins, who also arrived from Guyana on Saturday and will be the lead singer at the series. Atkins came to prominence among Adventists for her singing talent during the recently concluded The Rise of an Empire- Greatness II Camporee at Loo Creek, Guyana, where more than 3000 Pathfinders and Masterguides from across the Caribbean attended.

The Bible Speaks Empowerment Series will begin at 7:00 PM nightly and 9:00 AM on Sabbaths.

‘Humbled’

Pastor Smith was serving as the Youth Director of the Caribbean Union Conference and was in the middle of leading an evangelistic series in Guyana earlier this month, when his appointment to the IAD was made.

Noting that he was humbled by the appointment, Pastor Smith said it’s one that came suddenly, and he is thankful to God for the ability and opportunity to serve his church.

“I am looking forward to contributing, because it is my conviction that when God calls you, it is because He has deposited something in us that He wants us to share. So, I embrace it, and I am ready to share with the Caribbean and the wider region. This is God’s church, and whenever we are called to service, we should be humbled by it, and we should also be joyful to give what He has given to us.”

There are reportedly 1,935 Seventh-day Adventists in the Virgin Islands who worship in eight congregations, and 247,630 Adventists in the Caribbean Union, which includes the VI.
