PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI – Jr Minister for Agriculture & Fisheries, Dr the Hon Karl Dawson (R1) says solutions will come for the issues facing Paraquita Bay in areas of agriculture, as scores of persons turned out for the Agriculture & Fisheries Exhibition and Market 2024 hosted at the estate.

Speaking at the event's opening on March 16, 2024, Dr Dawson said “In the past, this particular exhibition signalled the beginning of the agricultural exhibitions across the Territory. This year as the exhibitions were spread across the county...”

He added, “today... We are here at Paraquita Bay, Which in some ways, is the central point for agriculture in the territory. The Department of Agriculture is located here and this area is also home to the largest program of assigned lots for the purpose of agriculture,” he said.

According to the Minister, he remains hopeful for the future of more self-substance in the VI with many programs on the way, including programs that will encourage more collaboration and community among farmers.

Persons encouraged to partake in agriculture by Premier 

Meanwhile, present at the event was Premier and Minister and Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) who encouraged those present to venture into agriculture as ‘now is the time’ he said, as the industry is about to be revived with new opportunities.

        it obviously a secret no advertisement. if i knew about it i would have traveled to come home and see the the functions, it would have been a beneficial event for andi may have able be a help since i have degree in agricure,

        The radio is there to provide info but most people rely on internet. Get a radio with AM. It will be useful in hurricane season as well.

      I miss her too i remember when we used to live Anegada, and she promised me we'll get married after high school.. i waited n waited she never came back for me just started her new life on Tortola.
      If that wasn't a buss chest it is now.
