SCB man charged for causing death by dangerous driving

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Friday, November 25, 2022, formally charged Alixson Auguiste of Sea Cows Bay (SCB) with causing death by dangerous driving in the traffic fatality on Waterfront Drive that claimed the life of a woman in May of this year.

The deceased, Sophia Wilson, a native of Jamaica, was struck by the vehicle driven by Auguiste while she walked east on the sidewalk near the Dr D.O. Smith Hospital.

She was taken to hospital and later transferred overseas for medical care but later succumbed to her injuries.

Police in a press release today, November 29, 2022, said Auguiste was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 with one surety to appear before Magistrate’s Count on February 23, 2023.

    The boat owner/ operator who caused three(3)deaths at sea,why has he not been arrested and held accountable ?

      @hmmmm| wake up and realise the chap was arrested in the month of December however the incident happened in May

      The boating incident must be investigated first before an arrest could be made if necessary


      that it is called an accident as a posed to a person blatantly killing another person

      also for the boat owner who took the life of the 6 year old and the young lady. that matter gone Ice cold. but this one took light really fast. i guess its who you know.

    If Tortola had the stretch of road or stretch of highway that is on the outside, they would be picking up bodies everyday from speeding in Tortola. Slow the hell down, what is the damn rush on a 2x4 hilly Island surrounded by water.
