PASEA, Tortola, VI- RTW Group of Companies, which manages Roadtown Wholesale Trading Ltd, Riteway Food Markets, Fine Foods, Harbor Market, and Riteway Home, has notified the general public of the immediate recall of certain JIF Products.

Salmonella outbreak

This comes as the J. M. Smucker Co. has announced that it is recalling select Jif peanut butter products over potential Salmonella contamination.

As of May 21, 2022,14 people in 12 states have reported salmonella illnesses, according to the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC). Of those 14, five people reported eating peanut butter, with four of them specifically eating Jiff peanut butter products before getting sick, the CDC said.

The CDC Epidemiologic evidence indicates that Jif brand peanut butter produced in the J.M. Smucker Company facility located in Lexington, KY, is the likely cause of illnesses in this outbreak.

People does still use this brand peanut butter? I stop use it from years ago because I realized it tasted funny. It doesn't taste the same like before.

Very, very soon we have to stop importing stuff from America because they trying to kill us. Look what's happening with the baby formula. Open your eyes, people.

FYI, there is not anything for America to gain by killing off anyone in the BVI. Also, the baby formula is made in a lab. America also have a shortage on baby formula. Like granny say, use carnation or pet milk, water, Karo syrup and baby like they use to do in the olden days rather than feeding your baby something that is made in a lab.

This is absurd! They aren’t specifically sending tainted product to the BVI. Broaden your mind people.

Agreed. We have to go back to the land and subsistence farming. All children need to learn the hard toil and low returns that farming provides. Back-breaking work in the sun. Or we could use our brains in better jobs and buy good food ( not junk) at the supermarket
