Sailing: Royal BVI Yacht Club wins 2026 Manhattan Yacht Club Trophy

ROAD HARBOUR, Tortola, VI- On Saturday, January, 2026, three clubs faced off for the honour of winning the 2026 Manhattan Yacht Club Trophy.

Sailors from the Royal BVI Yacht Club and the West End Yacht Club joined Manhattan Yacht Club boats for a race from The Bight to Road Harbour, making up 3 teams of two boats.

Three of the BVI Youth Sailors were lucky enough to join the Arabella for the morning, all of them getting the opportunity to helm the 157ft 3-masted schooner.

RBVIYC reclaims trophy

The Royals reclaimed the trophy and hosted the after-party at the Club House, Club 1973, in the evening.

"As always, a super fun day and a joy to share the camaraderie of sailing between the three clubs with just a dash of competitive rivalry thrown in!

"Thank you, everyone, who sailed, everyone who partied, the chauffeur boats and the C1973 team for a great evening. See you next year," the Royal BVI Yacht Club stated in a press release.
