Safe Haven’s community outreach programme deemed a success

JOHNSON'S GHUT, Tortola, VI- A community outreach event organized for vulnerable individuals and persons living with mental health issues by the staff of Safe Haven Transitional Centre has been deemed a success by the organizers.

The programme focused on the importance of giving back in the spirit of Thanksgiving under the theme ‘See Me, Not My Limitations- SHTC Care Project 2021’.

It was hosted in partnership with Community Mental Health, BVI Red Cross and other businesses and stakeholders within the community where clients and attendees were treated to activities including soup distribution and clothing distribution. 

Personal grooming offered 

Persons also got the opportunity to access hair, nail and personal grooming from local partner businesses.

Spiritual devotion was led by the centre’s Chaplain Dr. Robert Wright and musical entertainment was provided under strict COVID-19 protocol. 

The staff and clients of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre expressed their gratitude to the businesses and individuals for their kind contributions and donations that made the event possible.
