PURCELL ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Safe Haven Transitional Centre has served over 30 bowls of warm soup to vulnerable members of the Virgin Islands community during its Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen Outreach Initiative.

The outreach programme carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Development is an annual event for the centre with its major beneficiaries being clients of the Community Mental Health and the Family Support Network.

According to Government Information Service (GIS), Director Mrs Nellville George Bronstorph said hosting the soup kitchen was a meaningful way to provide hot and nourishing meals to the vulnerable community members in the Territory and offer some comfort and care during this time.

Catalyst for Social Change

Mrs George Bronstorph said, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported the centre throughout the year, including our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners. Together, we can continue building a brighter future, one where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.”

The director added, “Under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the centre’s commitment is to continue to take strides towards being a catalyst for social change as individuals transform their lives.”

It may only be 30 bowls but something is better than nothing. Stop sounding so ungrateful.

what on earth is wrong with our people? Can't we be positive just for once? We are so toxic to the point that if we cannot pull each other down, we feel stiffled. Goodness gracious. If you cannot say something good, sometimes it is best to just say nothing. We have so much venum for our fellow brothers and sisters and we expect the BVI to be a better place.

From where and when and how did all this dire poverty pop up...to thecrxyent c that people are drinking from a community trough like pigs..Not these BVI where I grew up andvgranny great granny and beyond...With all the hoopla about dem folks being migrated for our , ",betterment and building up" t,hs is it??? BVI is at its worse and keep sinking.
MONACO has Zero poverty and so does our beighbor ST BARTS ,but we are mired in the self victimization mode and self degradation.
Not bad enough so we want Independence for full recognition as bottom of the barrel to.match those other selfvictimized victims in the Caribbean Island Chain.
