Ryan R.E. Geluk & Lynette L. Harrigan tie the knot in Canada

A large number of persons from the Virgin Islands (VI) attended the wedding in support of the couple, including the Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9); the Junior Minister for Financial Services and Economic Development, Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE (AL); the Junior Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sustainable Development, Hon Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4); and the Director of Tourism, Clive L. McCoy.
About the newlywedded
Geluk is the Director of BDO Limited and a Past Assistant Governor of District 7020. He is also the man behind the creation of the innovative technology platform called BOSSs (Beneficial Ownership Secure Search System), a searchable portal that provided law enforcement authorities with the ability to have rapid access to verified beneficial ownership information on any VI company. It was a tool that the VI successfully used to hold off the United Kingdom from imposing public registers of beneficial ownership, which would have crippled the VI’s financial services industry.
Harrigan is the Niche Marketing Manager of the BVI Tourist Board and a prominent member of Rotary. She has travelled globally to promote VI tourism at numerous events and exhibitions, to the benefit of the local industry and economy. She has looked to diversify the industry and to encourage tourism all year round, beyond the peak months. This has included establishing more niche markets, such as romance tourism and the incentive market, which focuses on companies that offer reward schemes to their workers, including access to exclusive resorts.
Harrigan was bestowed with an MBE from His Majesty the King in December 2022.
‘More than a wedding’
“It was more than a wedding; it was a celebration of over 20 years of love, commitment, and unwavering dedication to each other. The day (well it was actually a combination of events over 2 days) was filled with laughter, music and dancing to DJ Dre (Andre Gaymes) - who joined us for the celebration!), and heartfelt moments (and a few of Ryan's tears) that we will treasure forever.
From the serene backdrop of Ontario’s countryside to the eclectic style of The Retro Suites Hotel to the vibrant energy of our guests, every detail reflected the joy and unity that has carried us through this journey together,” Mr Geluk posted on his Facebook page on September 1, 2025.
‘Here’s to love that endures’
Noting that the two exchanged vows in front of almost 130 cherished family and friends, including nearly 70 loved ones who travelled from the Virgin Islands and across the Caribbean to share this special day with them, Mr Geluk expressed gratitude for their support.
“To everyone who travelled near and far, who laughed, danced, and celebrated with us and for everyone who have been with us along our journey — thank you for playing a part in showing what is most important.
“Here’s to love that endures, friendships that uplift, and the blessings of a future filled with hope.”
The Maid of Honour was VI entrepreneur Jehree D. Clarke, while the Best Man was Adriaan Geluk.
The Father Giver was Ray Harrigan.
Others from the VI who attended the wedding included Former Premier Daniel Orlando Smith, OBE; former legislator Dr Kedrick D. Pickering, Mr Andrew D. Bickerton, Abbey O’Neal, and Gerald St. C. Farara, KC.
The Management & Staff of Virgin Islands News Online extend best wishes to the newlywedded.

That's not news
a lot of youths spend 5months to a year and think yea time for a child or time for marriage and they think the person them with will still commited and wont change.... it takes time being together learning about each others what yall like and dont like and what yall willing to compromise....that takes time! at least 3yrs plus maybe 2 and half years minimum..not saying to gotta wait 20 years but some wolf are very good at hiding but them cant hide forvever and you also have to learn about one another that takes timeeee
i see young women get up and boom baby from some guy them know only for a few months to a year.....some time pass and she a single mother.....no ring.....
some women pick up men from a certain lifestyle them either participate in or like such as clubbing, partying, fete, drinking, smoking, illegal activites etc and they shack up with them thinking they will be the only flower in that mans garden or thinking this man is a responsible person to have a kid with or will expect marriage from that type only to find out the hardway....sinlge mother or no ring and in many cases both.... not saying people in other lifestyles won't do the same as those types but there just a higher chance of those types failing you! some women also dont learn from those incidents and still chase those types expecting a different outcome every single time we call them clowns. Some dress half naked or scandolous and expect to attract the "right one".......
can't feel sorry for people who dont learn
but yes all the best to this beautiful married couple they have achieved what many yearn or wish for some even get married and dont last cuz they didn't spend long enough time prior to learn their partner or they pick someone with clear red flags but still continued but this couple has stood the test of time and know what they want for each other beautiful!!
