RVIPF uncovers cannabis plantation, one man charged
Over the weekend, officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force uprooted and confiscated 1,248 cannabis plants ranging from four inches to three feet in height.
Rodney Smith, 41, who was seen by Police on Saturday afternoon around 3pm on the plantation, was subsequently charged for cultivation of cannabis. He is presently on Police bail in the sum of $20,000 with one signed surety for his appearance in the Magistrate’s Court on February 1.
During the year 2012, officers of the RVIPF uncovered nine cannabis plantations throughout the Territory uprooting a total of 1,235 plants.
