ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – More than 100 children, accompanied by parents and guardians turned up to enjoy the goodies and prizes at the annual Children’s Christmas Party organized by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

The Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park was filled with laughter and music, as children jumped on the bouncy.

Some were observed playing hide and seek while others gathered around to have their face painted.

Similar parties were held at the Cane Garden Bay and Virgin Gorda police stations.

You have to realise that this party was competing with others on the same day including a Police Childrens Party at East End and a Childrens Christmas party at Brewers Bay among others. So considering this, there was a great turnout as usual. Most importantly the children had fun with the bouncers, free face paining, food, cake, icecream, Dora, Diego, Spongebob, Mickey & Minnie Mouse and oh yes Santa and Mrs Claus. Stop trying to downplay the event when i am sure that u as well as other officers did not even support the event.

To be honest I was not that impressed because the event seemed very unorganized. There were many things for the kids to do but when it came down to the gift giving I swear they were giving out gold in those tacky Digicel red bags. And the announcement of the raffle that was a whole nother thing there. Disappointed....

What does it matter what the gifts are in do u think the kids really care. Digicel is a sponsor for the event. Feel free not to attend next year if you think the bags are tacky or simply let the kids enjoy their day. If the parents would behave in an orderly manner the gift giving would go a lot smoother. The problem is not with the kids when it comes to gift giving but with the parents who act in a disorderly manner pushing and don't want to follow instructions. Parents want to tell you what gift they want for their kids and asking for gifts for 3 and 4 children who aren't even at the party. The Police try to provide a fun day for the kids and parents but the parents with their bad manners and lack of respect are who spoil it for the kids.
