EAST END, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is seeking to engage community members during an upcoming “non-enforcement” community event dubbed ‘Meet Your Community Policing Officers’.

Members of the RVIPF’s Community Policing Unit will be out to “connect, listen and engage” community members as the unit seeks to build stronger community connections while building safer communities.

No enforcement, just conversation

The RVIPF assured members of the community that this event is solely social, and there will be “no enforcement, just conversation”. Members of the public are encouraged to stop by and meet their community Police Officers, share concerns and ideas, learn about community safety initiatives, and ask questions in a relaxed environment.

The Meet Your Community Policing Officers is scheduled for May 29, 2026, in the vicinity of Fine Foods, East End, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. RVIPF added that free chicken soup will be provided.

A strategic priority

The RVIPF, through its Community Policing Team, has been extremely active recently, an intentional move.

“Our Community Policing Team continues to strengthen its presence across the Territory, with increased patrols focused on meaningful, non-enforcement engagement. These efforts are all about connection; taking the time to listen, understand, and respond to the concerns of residents and the business community alike,” the RVIPF said recently.

Officers of the unit have been actively engaging with members of the public, building trust, and reinforcing partnerships that are essential to safer communities.

“We remain committed to a people-centred approach to policing, because strong relationships are the foundation of effective policing.”
