RVIPF seeks witnesses in Fort Hill fatal accident

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– Police are asking persons who were at the scene or provided care to the victim of the fatal accident on Fort Hill on January 19, 2023, to come forward and assist with the investigation.

According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), in a press release today, January 27, 2023, investigations indicate that while descending Fort Hill, a motorcyclist collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The rider, Vincent Huggins, 19, of Hodge's Creek, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

“Officers of the Road Policing Unit seek information from the persons who either witnessed the accident or rendered medical assistance at the scene,” the RVIPF stated.

It said information provided could be beneficial in the investigation.

    It is not a time for questions, they are young and only see dimly. We all were like that but in a different way. My sympathy goes out to loved ones. RIP.

    This police 'investigation' kis nonsense. The scooters are driving on the wrong side. Passing on a curve. Removing they muffler. Driving with no helmet.
    I see this EVERYDAY. How is it the police miss all this!? The noise. The hoodlums that delivers weed. It is ALL scooter boys. We don't need Sherlock Holmes to figure this out!
    Police - start doing your job! When you see this behavior, arrest them. You might save their life later.

    The young man was miss handles by helper .he were on his belly at first and then turned over on his back were he start choking on his own blood ,they were to put him I the recovery position wich is on he side .
