WICKHAM’S CAY I, Tortola, VI – Police detectives within the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Criminal Investigations Department (CID) say they are tracking several leads in their investigations into Saturday’s July 1, 2023, brazen robbery at House of Luxury jewellery Store in the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park (CBR TPP).

Police in a release this afternoon, July 4, 2032, quoted Acting Commissioner St. Clair Amory saying that the RVIPF is progressing with investigations, however, he was unable to disclose any details on the leads.

“No details on our efforts to identify the suspects in this case can be released to the public at this time, however, we are making steady progress in our inquiries,” Amory noted.

As accurately reported by our newsroom, Police at around 2:00 pm on Saturday, said officers were called to the scene of an armed robbery at Pier Park where employees of the jeweler store reported that two armed masked persons entered the store dressed in all-white.

Value of stolen jewellery undetermined

“One assailant proceeded to remove jewelry from the showcases, and both fled the scene toward the parking lot with a quantity of the store’s merchandise. The value of the stolen items is undetermined at this time,” the police.

One of the perpetrators discharged a firearm while outside the compound, however, no injuries were reported. Police added that close to the time of Saturday’s robbery, the RVIPF also received reports of gunshots fired near Road Reef and around the Stickett in Long Look with investigations into those reports still being carried out.

The force continues to appeal for witnesses to the robbery where persons are being asked to contact RVIPF’s Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or give this information anonymously to crime stoppers at 800-8477.

The National Security Council (NSC) had said “no stone” will be left unturned in efforts to apprehend the armed persons who daringly robbed jewellery store.

Who do these clowns think they are selling these stolen items to? The Police cannot divulge information that might help the crooks get away. I would truly like to see these idiots get caught and see their faces. Dumb Asses!

We have more confidence in this officer in the picture because this man does his work without an e***-minded agenda like the r***st UK commissioner of police does.

The Commissioner of police is a failure. He is more interested in carrying out the colonial masters' agenda than doing real policing.

The Commisioner efforts have been blocked by your elected Government .
The proposed revision of the Polixe Bill .

If that is a lie. Do not mix up the police bill with this matter. The commissioner of police is using crime to justify passing a dictatorship police bill that will violate our human rights because he has an agenda with the Governor and others that is larger than crime. Talk all!!!

Have your investigators took statements form Security staff and other staff on duty, including those in the Jewelry store to find out where they were what they were doing, what they observed before, during and after the Robbery ?. Did your investigators took statements from Pier Park Management and Port Management to ascertain their satisfaction or dis-satisfactiin of their security at the Pier Park. ( Because its been observed by almost everyone using the Park that security there is nonesixtant / ineffecrive and Both Port and Pier Park management knew this) .What did they do to address it? .. "Obviously Nothing". Hence we have this Robbery.. 'I would assumed your good investigators did'. U will know that Visibility or visual presence of Security Guards is the basic in security, its serves as a deterrent, it would have had the Robbers or intended Robbers thinking and considering a change of plan, or avoid such plan in the first place..( Robbers do plan and plan well)..We have to call it as it is. This is a failure of management the security Issues that came to their attention, and the Police who have ignored the population cry for day and night foot patrol in our cities and commercial areas including Pier Park & VG. ..."Now everybody blaming everybody". and everyone who failed has a stupid excused. ' as usual' . Now I am hearing that the same Robbers are the Ones that burs the shots in East, then head to town to their plan mission, or bursing the shots was part of the plan, So while the cops were heading up east, they were heading down Town,..Mr. Deputy commissioner you have to get serious with your investigations, hold all who failed in their duties responsible, Its not just about this Robbery but to prevent future ones.. lets keep the politics out, because some folks on the Job think that because of their Political affiliations, or connections they are untouchable and can do as they wish., Festival is coming, Christmas is coming and you better believe the lazy Robbers are planning. ( Robbers do plan and Plan well.) Get serious. .Keep the BVI safe. Bare in mind.the tourism peoduct is very fragile .. Remember, leave no stone unturned.. Keep the good works up, strive to be better.

A good starting point will be to check the stores that sells hazmat suits and mask. Chances are that those items were once brought here was purchased within the last 30 day. Use the footage to bring in and question everyone who brought those items.

It could be that they got the hazmat suits from someone who works in forensic or at the hospital, they could have ordered them.

If I was in charge of security I would have a security details at the all entrances and exits of the Pier Park including the walk in entrances.....I would also ask for periodic k9 patrols from the police during operating hours.

There should be security at each entrance, that is real security.

Of which there are at least four. The two vehicle entrance/exits, the pedestrian entrance and one more being the sea/dock itself.

No K9 though too many people will get arrested for weed enjoying their night on the pier.
